About FLSA

Our Mission

The Unifying Voice of the Freight Transport Logistics Sector, advocating for and representing freight logistics companies across all four modes of transportation.

Our Vision

Advocate for Access to Market, Access to Finance and Access to Capacity Development for the previously disadvantaged Transport SMME's in the Ecosystem/Value Chain.

What We Do

We bring together diverse stakeholders including freight forwarders, marine logistics services, trucking companies, storage warehouses, and custom brokerage firms.

Strategic Cardinal Pillars

Six strategic pillars to address Freight Logistics Value Chain and Transformation

Customs

Active participation in the Customs and Excise National Operations Stakeholder Forum (CENOSF), Customs and Excise National Stakeholder Strategic Forum (CENSSF), and other relevant customs forums, with engagement at both regional and international levels through the WTO, SACU, WCO, and the World Bank.

Pipeline

We contributed to the development of the Oceans Economy Master Plan, participating in the Eastern Cape oil project with TotalEnergies and the Northern Cape hydrogen gas initiative.

Maritime

We implement the Comprehensive Maritime Transport Policy and the Oceans Economy Master Plan, supporting growth across the marine sector. This encompasses marine logistics, including salvage operations, commercial fishing, bunkering, ship and boat construction and maintenance, oil and gas, and marine mining, as well as shipping services.

Aviation

We identify and pursue opportunities across cargo handling, air traffic services, cabin crew, and other aviation-related areas, strengthening the value chain through ongoing collaboration with ACSA and SACAA.

Rail Freight

Forge strategic partnerships with TFR and TPT to optimize port terminal operations, including warehousing and stevedoring, driving efficiency and value across the logistics chain.

Road Freight

Support the NDoT’s Road-to-Rail campaign, actively participate in the CBRTA Operator Stakeholder Forum, and engage in SARS Customs Land Modality Border meetings to drive collaboration and efficiency across transport corridors.
